Eurozone: What will happen on iuvo?

On 08.07.2025, it became clear that Bulgaria will adopt the EUR on 01.01.2026.

With this post we want to inform you what actions iuvo is taking in regards to entering the eurozone in accordance to the Law.

What already happened on iuvo in regards to the adoption of EUR?

• Last year, iuvo gave its user the opportunity to convert BGN to EUR on the platform at the official BNB exchange rate, with no taxes from iuvo. As the first P2P marketplace platform in Bulgaria and Southeastern Europe, we were among the first here as well.
• Together with the originators, we decreased the supply of BGN loans on our market in order for the transition to EUR to happen more smoothly.
• As a company that conducts financial transactions in BGN, iuvo is required to have the BGN amounts dual-labeled in BGN and EUR. This is already a fact, and we continue to work on improving the dual-labeling. It is needed to remain in place for a year after the official adoption of the euro on 01.01.2026.

What else is yet to happen on iuvo before 01.01.2026?

• We will add an option, which will allow you to express your wish for your funds in BGN to be automatically converted into EUR at the official BNB exchange rate before 01.01.2026.
• In the last days of 2025, iuvoSAVE products in BGN will no longer be available for adding new funds and for product renewals. You will only receive payments on maturity and upon early withdrawal from your already activated products.

What will happen on iuvo after 01.01.2026?

• All of your available funds (not used to purchase claims of loan receivables and not added to iuvoSAVE products) in BGN will be automatically converted into EUR at the official BNB exchange rate.
• After the automatic currency conversion, the funds will be in your virtual account in EUR. You will not need to go through the standard procedures to add a new IBAN in order to have a EUR withdrawal account if you have previously funded your account only with BGN. We would like to clarify that iuvo is not responsible if your bank makes the individual decision to change the IBANs.
• The payments on BGN loans and iuvoSAVE products, which have installments and maturities after 01.01.2026, you will receive in EUR.
